Salvadorans report problems withdrawing bitcoins from Chivo wallet

After the fall of the cryptocurrency market, several users of the Salvadoran government wallet Chivo faced the inability to withdraw their funds.

This is reported by Blockworks, citing Chivo users who wished to remain anonymous. According to them, previously there were no problems when withdrawing bitcoins from the state wallet, but now, when trying to withdraw funds to a cold wallet, an error message appears.

“Chivo is absolutely unreliable. Every day we hear more and more stories about fraud and theft from the public wallet. My account was hacked about a month ago and now I can't even log in to check if my funds are still there,” said Banco Cuscatlan treasurer Andres Pineda.

Other users are complaining about the Chivo wallet on Twitter. For example, one of the users tried to transfer bitcoins to the Binance exchange, but could not do it.

Recall that in December last year, residents of the country complained about the loss of funds stored on Chivo wallets. In April, it was reported that only 20% commercial companies in El Salvador began accepting bitcoins to pay for their goods and services.
