In mid-July, the Spanish bank Santander will announce six winning companies that will receive a total of $120,000 for business development.

The Santander X Global Challenge awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in the Decentraland metaverse on July 14th. The ceremony is the end of a project competition held jointly with the Oxentia Foundation, in which about 400 legal entities took part. The closing date for applications was June 9, 2022, after which a jury of international experts narrowed down the list to 20 finalists.

Among the 20 shortlisted companies, there are ten start-ups and ten scalable projects under active development. Of these, six will be selected as the best, presenting effective digital-focused solutions ranging from privacy and security to decentralized finance (DeFi).

The winners will become part of the Santander X 100 entrepreneurial community and gain access to company resources such as clients, educational programs and connections.

At the award ceremony, six winners will receive a total of 120,000 euros (approximately $121,985) - three start-ups of 10,000 euros each, and three more ongoing projects of 30,000 euros each.

At the beginning of the year, Santander announced that it was developing the possibility of providing loans backed by agricultural tokens. The bank assured that this is the first project of its kind that combines financial products with agricultural tokens.
