Hive Blockchain increased hardware hashrate by 8% in May

Canadian mining company Hive Blockchain has reported that its total bitcoin mining hardware hashrate has increased by 8% over the past month.

According to the report, Hive wallets received 273.4 BTC and 2,694 ETH in May. The total hash rate of Bitcoin mining equipment was 2.18 EH/s, while the hash rate of ETH mining devices remained the same at 6.26 Tx/s. Hive Chairman Frank Holmes said:

“We are pleased to announce that Hive continued to increase hardware capacity in May, for example, the total hashrate of BTC mining devices increased by 8% in a month, thanks to the installation of new devices and updates. In May, we averaged 8.8 BTC per day, and now this figure reaches 9.2 BTC, even after the latest increase in mining difficulty.”

Holmes also said that during the year the total hashrate of the equipment will be increased from 3.4 Eh / s to 6.2 Eh / s. This will be achieved thanks to a new supply of devices - both ASIC miners and farms using video accelerators. Deliveries of miners based on Intel chips should begin this month.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency in the country due to a lack of power generating capacity, which could negatively affect the activities of local miners.
